Mara Mediterra's specific objectives in this field are to:

Identify areas in community education that need to be addressed, through dialogue and consultation, together with the relevant local and regional authorities,

Create initiatives and activities to address these areas, and

Encourage and continue to support ongoing community initiatives that relate to combating illiteracy and social exclusion.
